Created by Monzerrath Gonzalez, Ni Modo is a ceramics studio rooted in the beauty of letting go.

The name carries a lifelong personal history. Growing up, Monze used the Mexican Spanish phrase ni modo (“oh well,” “it is what it is”) so frequently that her grandmother would constantly say, “Ni modo, dijo Monze,” when things didn’t go quite right.

Today, that childhood refrain has become a creative philosophy. The studio embraces the unpredictable nature of the medium rather than seeking rigid perfection. Working in tandem with the clay, Monze creates organic, hand-sculpted pieces that celebrate process, patience, and the unique character of an art form that can never be exactly replicated.
